Technology Toolbox
Alantum’s propriatory manufacturing technology is based on the conversion of base metal foam e.g. iron, nickel, copper into a wide range of alloys which meet the requirements of different applications.
The manufacturing process also allows to make foam with various pore sizes and differing degrees of porosity.
The proprietary Alantum metal foam provides significant and measurable advantages over any competing foam technologies. Alantum makes use of its extensive process and product know-how to precisely adapt the structure and alloy composition to the precise requirements of the customer applications meeting highest quality standards.
The range stretches from cost-efficient compositions to high-tech superalloys able to withstand extremely corrosive conditions (such as sulphuric acid) as well as high temperatures of up to 1200 °C.
Also, Alantum supports its customers with CFD simulations (computational fluid dynamics) of the application and can accurately predict for instance the filtration performance in the automotive tailpipe or the reactions in complex chemical processes.
The modelling not only accelerates the development and time-to-market of applications and products, but does so in the most cost efficient way.
